Pre- & Post PMU Guidelines
PMU Treatment: What to Do and Avoid

Do (Before PMU)
-
Eat a normal meal before your appointment (low blood sugar can increase sensitivity).
-
Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment.
-
Inform your artist about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications.
-
Avoid sunburns or tanning on your face before the appointment.
-
Plan ahead — your brows will need a healing period, so schedule at least 2 weeks before important events.
-
Arrive with clean skin (no makeup, creams, or oils on the brow area).

Don’t (Before PMU)
-
Don’t drink alcohol 24 hours before (it thins the blood).
-
Don’t take blood-thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E) at least 24–48 hours prior, unless prescribed by a doctor.
-
Don’t drink caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks) on the day of your treatment — it can increase sensitivity and bleeding.
-
Don’t use retinol, chemical peels, or strong skincare acids at least 1 week before treatment.
-
Don’t wax, tint, or thread your brows within 48 hours of your appointment.
-
Don’t do Botox or fillers in the forehead/brow area for at least 2 weeks before.
-
Don’t come if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 (treatment is not recommended).

Temporary Effects After Treatment
-
You may experience temporary swelling, redness, or itching after the treatment, but these usually go away quickly.
-
During the healing process, small scabs and some pigment loss may occur. Your eyebrows may look 40% darker and 10–15% thicker during the first seven days.
-
Slight asymmetry in your eyebrows might happen while healing due to facial movements.
-
Final results depend on factors like your skin type, sun exposure, and how well you care for the area after treatment.
-
A follow-up session is recommended 5–6 weeks after the first treatment to ensure the best results.

Post-Treatment Care
-
Avoid hot showers for the first 4 days. When showering, keep your face dry and avoid hot water in the treated area.
-
Limit exercise for 1 week. Avoid activities that make you sweat heavily.
-
Stay out of the sun. Avoid direct sunlight or sunbathing for 4 weeks.
-
No swimming for 15 days. Avoid pools and hot tubs during this time.
-
Skip makeup and sunscreen. Do not apply any products to the treated area.
-
Do not touch or irritate the area. Avoid rubbing, picking, or scratching the treated skin.
